This Van Rocks!
1992 Toyota Previa LE
See the page I made previously to celebrate the van as one of my favorite toys.

I did a lot of research B4 I bought this van. It get's the best gas mileage in it's class (in 1992) - 18 to 19 mpg. I still get the same mileage now, 13yrs later.
Super comfy ride... perfect for road trippin'.

I've taken pretty good care of it, and it's never let me down. Other that 1 flat tire, it has NEVER broken down.
I think I have to get it smogged B4 I can sell it. It always passes easily, so I don't expect any problems.

The body is in pretty good shape. there are some rusty spots, but nothing big or serious, The paint is likewise pretty good, but with a few nicks and scrapes. nothing some touch-up paint won't fix.

I got some new hub caps about a year ago. and a new windshield, which is still in perfect condition.

I bought the van from a family who used it to drive to LA to visit family (so mostly free way miles). I've continued to use it for mostly road trips. I'm the second owner.

This van is also the biggest in it's class. I've fit a whole sheet of ply-wood (4'x8') flat in the back, and still had leg room in the front.

The way the seats flip up is really great. it makes it easy to switch between passengers and cargo.

I installed a new stereo 2 yrs ago. It plays mp3 & wma files, so you can get 7 hrs or more of music onto one CD. The speakers are stock (I think) but the put out some GOOD sound.

Riding shotgun is luxury

Most of the time I have it like this, with the middle seat out. I like to refer to it as the living room. I've spent many hours sitting in the "living room" with friends. very comfy for 4 or 5 people staying out of the rain or cold.

The middle seat. With this is, there are 7 seatbelts! usually I have it out, and use it as a couch in my house. The seatbelts make for good humor while watching a movie.

AH, THE REAL REASON I GOT A VAN.
This is the best RV around.
Fully loaded with 3 friends, 2 bikes and a ton of gear, we got 18mpg driving from Bishop, CA to Colorado with the AC blasting.
I've spent a good deal of time living in the van. It packs a lot of gear, and gets you where you want to go... In Style!

I built these boxes custom for car camping / living

LOTS OF STORAGE

you can even use one of the seats with the boxes in. both seats can be removed. I remove the other one when I'm gonna be living / camping for a long time, especially if 2 people will be sleeping in the van.

What more could you want in an RV?

I had this piece of foam cut custom to fit. I'm 6'0" and the bed is awesome. the foam 2" medium density.

Known Issues
The tires are OK, but will should be replaced in another 2000 miles.
Oil leak - the van leaks oil VERY slowly. it has made a little stain in the driveway, and when it gets hot, the oil burns. The leak is not a big problem. I've never had to add extra oil. It's more of an annoyance than anything. I recently had a gasket replaced, which helped. the mechanic, who I trust, put it like this...
"the engine has 200k miles, the seals are tired, and leak a little when the pressure in the engine builds up. Buy an oil pan, carry an extra quart of oil, and don't drive like a maniac. This engine still has a lot of mile left in it."

SOLD -sorry :(
Ideally I'd like to sell it to someone who will continue to use this van to travel and live outside.
My main reason for selling the van is because I'm moving to Oakland where I'll start a career (I'm finally finishing school). Between harder parking and reduced free time for road trips the Honda Civic I just bought makes more sense.
"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history
, the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.
"Fair" condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. This vehicle has a clean title history
, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage.
